FlagQuest ("we", "us") operates this website. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us through the contact page.

• Leaderboard entries. When you save a score we store the nickname and country you entered, your score, the number of flags guessed, your time, the game mode and difficulty, and the date. The nickname is entirely your choice — please don't use your real name if you'd rather stay anonymous.
• Challenge links. If you challenge a friend, we store the score being challenged so the link can display it.
• On-device settings. Your nickname, country, difficulty, sound and haptics preferences, and your Daily Quest result are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device except when you save a score.
• Technical data. Our hosting and database providers process standard request data such as IP address and browser type in order to serve the site and prevent abuse.

We do not ask for your email address, we do not require an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

FlagQuest itself uses local storage for your settings — that is strictly functional and cannot identify you. Our advertising partners may set cookies as described below.

This site is free because it shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Specifically:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, ads are served in line with Google's consent requirements, and you can change your consent choices at any time through the consent prompt when it appears.

Leaderboard and challenge data is stored in a managed database provided by our hosting platform. Flag images are loaded from FlagCDN. Advertising is delivered by Google. These providers may process data outside your country.

Leaderboard entries are kept as long as the leaderboard exists, since removing them would rewrite history. Local settings stay on your device until you clear your browser data or change them in Settings.

• Change or clear your nickname and country in Settings at any time.
• Clear your browser's site data to remove everything stored locally.
• Ask us to delete a leaderboard entry by writing to us via the contact page — tell us the nickname, score and mode so we can find it.

If we change how data is handled we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated policy.
