FlagQuest is a free geography game for people who are convinced they know every flag — and for everyone who is about to find out they don't.
What it is
FlagQuest shows you the flag of a country recognised by the United Nations and asks you to name it. You get three lives, a running clock and no sympathy. Guess a flag correctly and you score; miss and you get a letter of the name as a hint, at the cost of a life.
There are three ways to play: the Daily Quest (ten flags, the same ten for every player in the world, one attempt), continent rounds for focused practice, and World Domination — all 193 countries in one sitting.
Easy and Hard mode
In Easy mode you pick from four options: the right answer, two countries from the same continent and one wildcard from somewhere else entirely. In Hard mode you type the name yourself, with an autocomplete that deliberately never shows you a flag — that would be cheating, and we would know.
Leaderboards and challenges
Scores are global. Ties are broken by time, so speed matters. The top player overall is crowned World Champion, and each country has its own champion too. Finish a run and you can send a friend a challenge link that drops them into the exact same flags, in the exact same order, at the exact same difficulty. Zero excuses.
Data and accuracy
The country list follows the 193 member states of the United Nations. Flag images are served by FlagCDN. Spotted a name, alias or flag that looks wrong? Tell us on the contact page and we'll fix it.
How FlagQuest stays free
The game is free to play and always will be. It's funded by advertising, which is also why you'll see the occasional banner. How ads and cookies work is spelled out in the privacy policy.
